When given the options of whether or not to use a WordPress-embedded store or a separate website. I would ultimately recommend a separate website for setting up an online store. If I were very serious about this business venture, I or anybody else would need something big and something that offers variety and the tools necessary to succeed in their business venture.
1. With a separate website, you would avoid the time spent on learning how to use a WordPress plug-in while also having the opportunity to have flexible customization options.
2. With a WordPress Plug-In, you’d always have to manage website updates and backups.
3. You’d also have to be absolutely responsible with website security. If using a separate website, you’d be able to have it protect you through their website builder offering.
4. Maintenance of a separate website can be easier than that of a WordPress offering, which you have to constantly manage different and unique plug-ins
5. Lastly, you’d be able to have better SEO when running a separate e-commerce website, as they allow you to optimize based on country-specific keywords, content, and language.
These 5 reasons are the absolute reasons why I would prefer and recommend using a separate website rather than a WordPress Plug-In.
